On a in between almost midnight 31st January – Very weathering clouded extremely clouded out Auckland- New Zealand in bracing for an impending Cyclone Fehi that’s bound arrived in the later hours till midnight on the 31st January to 1st February 2018 in which the event of the Auckland Lunar Eclipse event of the Luna Rosa ended unobserved till four ending in the morning…  From the anticipated Supermoon that’s risen over the hills of One Tree looking towards north eastern direction that slight over right of the summit of one tree hill, in which a mass of crowds have gathered  at the back of Auckland Observatory- Stardome for the courtyard telescopes with a great team of volunteers whom operate them..  as the mass of crowds gather with their photographing camera equipment with their picnic blankets keeping warm throughout the night also the unexpected early hours morning …..

During the Cyclone Fehi Auckland Night it was a long wait, as looking for breaks in between the cyclone clouds to photograph..
As Cyclone Fehi Auckland moves closer towards past midnight then early morning the umbra moves closer as hides the Luna Rosa..
As you can see the Cyclone Fehi’s clouds moves closer to hide, gate crash the Supermoon red blue Lunar Eclipse..
As the Supermoon is cased by the Earth Shadow Umbra.. slowly seen in the Cyclone Fehi Auckland skies..

As the Supermoon rises from behind the hill embankments of One Tree Hill, in which the moon is closes towards the Planet earth in its elliptical orbit calling it Apogee, as the apogee moon rise from the horizon the image of the moon is magnified due to the heavy thick Atmospheric layering at the horizon in which increase the image of the moon, than from as it moves towards a higher angle of in the night sky in which it reduced magnification due to the thin atmosphere layer ….. As on the on the other side of hemisphere in Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Space Museum staging various events around Hong Kong one of many in nearby in Tsim Sha Tsui,  Kowloon Park, also Sha Tin also in Central on Hong Kong Island, with very great clear viewing  weather conditions than of Auckland..

During that onwards towards midnight it the building up of cyclone Fehi clouds started to concentratingly to nomadically increase only to have slightly teasing selectively of viewing the moon as it transition from the earth shadows umbra starting the cast on the Luna Shadow slowly, as it was gate crashing the moments of looking transiting moon,  towards the Luna Rosa.. In which as it gathered upwards to that moment it wasn’t possible to watched as the rain decide to gate crash the event.. Nor to photograph even further… like packing your troubles in that  first  Yosemite night time campfire scene from Star Trek V- The Final Frontier where Captain Kirk, Doctor McCoy’s, Captain Spock camping trip was interrupted ….

There’s something interesting at Auckland Observatory ( Stardome),  it happens when you curiously walked into the main lobby, and it’s recent installation. This recent installation is the third size of the Gemini Space craft. The Gemini program duration was in between 1962 – 1966 AD. It program design was explore the aspect of long duration, preparation for the next mission program, Apollo (Constellation). It mission aspect design is to explore rendezvous docking procedures,  for the Apollo in between with the command and lunar modules. It also gave the working outside the Gemini command module in Extra Vehicular Activity in doing various chores like for example in repairing  equipment…  The Gemini was launched on a Titian II GLV, also built contract by McDonnell Aircraft company, now merged to become McDonnell Douglas, then later in the 1990’s  in merged with Boeing…

The model is least than three meters, it constructed on crafted molded metal, plastic, painted in NASA colours, black, white, with beautifully riveted panels. The one third Gemini, has a transparent cover, in which allows you to voyeur the intricate details of the switches and dials.  The previous exhibition of where you’ve may have seen the Gemini, was at Museum of Transport and Technology, in Western Springs in Auckland,nearby the Auckland Zoo.

Cosplay

Looking around in the afternoon, taking my breaks from working at the Stardome Observatory stall in hall number three, where the celebrities singing takes place around the corner of that great big hall.  I would say that the cosplay are pretty impressive this year, everyone made their cosplay costume very resource fully that I have to admire for their creativity imagination. 

 This year, I’ve notice there’s more Stormtroopers than last year. several from during the times of Emperor Palpatine, the clone wars era, to the time of Palpatine’s deputy of Darth Vader’s time, of  Tie troopers, Sand stormtroopers, and the ordinary stormtroopers. But lets to say there was a balancing out there of a hand full of Master Jed’s, younglings, and Padawns to save the day.

This year also brings around to another type of  Cosplay, cosplaying  in military uniforms with body armour with airsoft weapons and battle gear. It’s interesting that day to see  military cosplay, from the last previous years that only reserve for the  Stargate fans, whom dress like SG1.

There’s been a lot of gaming, manga, anime fanasty cosplay, lately.  Days before I went to Armageddon, I went back to my old haunts to check out a gamming store in Queen Street, right next to another gaming store Vagaboard that I traditionally go too.  On that checking out I’ve notice some Japanese Manga and Anime mechanise.  I’ve notice one wall shelf was completely empty out. That dedicate wall was for anime cosplay costume. Which just points out that there’s a new trend and New Zealand is catching up on with rigth next to Comic Con also too with Wonder Con

As of next years cosplay….. we’ll see what happens next!

Armageddon 2010 AKL | part two

Arriving in early in morning, to Armageddon to see what finally the place looks like before the place opens. it feels empty at first like a scene from Battlestar Galatica when they decide to settle on New Caprica, leaving an empty BSG 75 only a few to maintain the ship you can hear the corridors sunshine quiet. until the doors open up with a warm buzz of arriving patrons creating life into the emptiness of the sallow out halls.

There are a lot more items than from the years of last, the event has grown even larger than last year.  Think this year it tweaked itself out as I wondered  into deeply into the three large halls of the ASB Expo Pavillion center in Greenlane.  There’s  new variety of items. I notice this year as I was walking around the stalls, it seems it more delicate to the Cosplay, with cosplay clothing, accessories, weapons. it’s starting to feel like Comic Con in San Diego but only Benito smaller.  I’ve notice there was a lot of gore cosplay on sale too, this may have been that Halloween is comming up, and now a upcomming tradition in slowly interculturing into Auckland.

One thing that I’ve notice from the last, the gamimg section as gotten larger, last year the EA stall has occupied largely center peice in the gamming hall, now it’s being replace by Sony Playstation,  larger than the last time it was here.  Curious to know that the Xbox stall has gotten smaller, mostly it has been replace by other smaller gammer companies, but even more larger presents of NZGammer. with Sony it has a much larger present that it ever had before, it’s giant uber size stalls which was previously held by EAgames.  Noticing the Sony Playstation stall,  crowed by all,  there’s been much attention to the  move controller, and to Playstation 3 verus to Microsoft Kinect, which had a smaller presence. 

Other thing noticing along the way, Activision still remains a great presence having showing  games such as Bizzard,  Guaitar hero DJ Hero, mostly it’s musical instrumental interactive platforms.  Having more room for Playstation exhibit I’ve notice  there’s more R16 rated games this year than from the last.

 There were more  Rated sixteen games, such as Kill Zone 3, Special Forces and God of War. At most of the time when you want to trying out the games it’s pretty much lining up and waiting for you turn, but it’s worth the…. wait.

The Crescent Moon.

Have you ever wondered why there’s a crescent Moon. which on some nights it looks like the moon is blinking right back you like this 😉 !  while on some night it’s looks like a Pac Man chasing after a Planet naming Venus on some seasonal nights in the Southern Hemisphere, trying to out run some Ghosties!, or is it some big smile 🙂  that trying to cheer you up at night sideways.

You’ve been wondering how does Crescent, forms on the  Moon?  They’re  form when most of the Earth shadow overcast onwards to the most coverage surface area of the luna surface giving a sliver of light. This happens in different paths in conjuction with the Sun, Earth and the Moon. 

Best times to observations of cresecent are in the early and the later week quarters durations of the of the month, the times of  observing a smiling moon is after a New Moon, and slowly right after a full Moon.

So when you look up in the night sky at the moon, you could be mistaken that you’re in Lewis Carroll’s Wonderland having  The Cheshire Cat leading you to the way of Mad hatters tea party, or look up knowing the moon is giving you a smile, cheering you up after a hard weeks work!
