The Ceres-2 (Y3) carrier rocket was successfully launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center at 7:37 a.m. on November 7, 2026, with the mission codename “Lifengxing”. This was the second flight of the Ceres-2 rocket after its maiden flight failed .

Mission Results : The rocket successfully launched four satellites—Guanlan Test Satellite, Yunyao-1 28 Satellite, North China University-1 Satellite, and Juntian-1 06A Satellite (Star Eye 01 Satellite)—into a 535-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit. The flight test mission was a complete success.

Rocket Overview : The Ceres-2 rocket, developed by Galactic Energy, is an upgraded version of the Ceres series. It adopts a three-stage solid-propellant tandem configuration with a liquid upper stage. It has a liftoff mass of approximately 100 tons and a payload capacity of 1.3 tons to a 500-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit. It is compatible with both land and sea launch methods.

Background of the resumption of flights : On January 17, 2026, Ceres-2 (YY1) experienced flight anomalies and mission failure during its maiden flight. The fault was located to insufficient design margin of the support structure of the throat liner of the first-stage engine. In June, it passed the technical zero-reset review and carried out a series of engine reliability growth tests before the resumption of flights
