The film’s main footage was shot at the China Space Station by Shenzhou 13 astronauts Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping, and Ye Guangfu, and was directed by Zhu Yiran of the Film, Drama, and Documentary Center of China Media Group. The story follows the Shenzhou 13 crew’s first six-month mission in orbit, presenting an extraordinary journey imbued with Chinese space aesthetics.

The film is produced by China Media Group, Beijing Shenzhou Aerospace Culture and Creative Media Co., Ltd., China Film Group Corporation, and Pearl River Film Group Co., Ltd., in conjunction with China Broadcasting Satellite Co., Ltd., and produced by the Film, Drama, and Documentary Center of China Media Group, with production under the purview of China Television Drama Production Center Co., Ltd.

Shenzhou XIII or Shenzhou-13 is the 13th spacecraft launched by China’s manned space program. is the sixth flight of the key technology verification phase of China’s space station and also the last flight mission of this phase …
In June 2021, the Shenzhou 13 manned spacecraft was ready for launch, equipped with rapid launch and emergency rescue capabilities. On September 20, the Tianzhou-3 cargo spacecraft, fully loaded with cargo, entered space and successfully docked with the space station. October 7, the Shenzhou XIII manned spacecraft and the Long March 2F Yao XIII carrier rocket were transported to the launch area .




At 0:23 on October 16, 2021, the Long March 2F Yao-13 carrier rocket carrying the Shenzhou 13 manned spacecraft ignited and launched at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center at the scheduled time. About 582 seconds later, the Shenzhou 13 manned spacecraft successfully separated from the rocket and entered the predetermined orbit, sending three astronauts, Zhai Zhigang , Wang Yaping , and Ye Guangfu , into space. The flight crew was in good condition and the launch was a success.
At 6:56 on October 16, 2021, the Shenzhou XIII manned spacecraft completed an autonomous rapid rendezvous and docking with the space station complex. On November 5, the Shenzhou 13 astronaut crew will conduct their first extravehicular activity at an appropriate time in the near future. On November 7, the Shenzhou 13 crew conducted its first on-orbit emergency evacuation drill; On the same evening, the Shenzhou 13 astronaut crew conducted an extravehicular activity; At 8:00 PM on the same day, Shenzhou 13 astronaut Zhai Zhigang left the spacecraft. On December 26, the Shenzhou 13 astronaut crew went out of the spacecraft for the second time.
On April 14, 2022, the Shenzhou XIII manned spacecraft has completed all its missions and will evacuate the space station core module assembly and return to the Dongfeng landing site at an appropriate time. At 9:56 Beijing time on April 16, 2022, the Shenzhou XIII manned spacecraft return capsule successfully landed at the Dongfeng landing site, and the Shenzhou XIII manned flight mission was a success
