At 0900  Hours Hong Kong SAR- Beijing Time 30th July 2026 , China- People’s Republic of China- CNSA –China National Space Administration   Successfully launched  Chang Zheng – Long March 6A Y18  At using a Long March-6A carrier rocket from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center. The launch mission was a complete success. …..Successfully Launches Communication Technology Experiment Satellites 27A/B…. At 9:00 AM on July 30th, the Long March 6A Y18 carrier rocket ignited and lifted off from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, launching two satellites in a single launch configuration. The Communication Technology Experiment Satellites 27A and 27B were successfully placed into their predetermined orbits. The mission was a complete success.

The Communication Technology Experiment Satellite 27A was developed by the Fifth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), while the 27B satellite was developed by the Eighth Academy of CASC. They will primarily be used for satellite communication, broadcasting, data transmission, and related technology testing and verification.

The Long March 6A carrier rocket is a new generation solid-liquid coupled medium-lift carrier rocket developed by the Eighth Academy of CASC.

The Long March 6A (Long March 6A) rocket is China’s new generation of solid-liquid coupled medium-lift launch vehicle, developed by the Eighth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. Its core features and recent important launch missions are as follows:

Rocket core parameters

  • Configuration : A two-and-a-half-stage configuration of “liquid core stage + solid booster”, with the core stage bundled with four two-segment solid booster engines with a diameter of 2 meters
  • Powertrain configuration :
    • Solid rocket boosters : provided by the Fourth Academy of Aerospace Science and Technology, each with a thrust of 120 tons, providing strong takeoff thrust..
    • Liquid core stage : Provided by the Sixth Academy of Aerospace Science and Technology, the first core stage uses two 120-ton liquid oxygen-kerosene engines, and the second core stage uses one 18-ton engine to ensure precise orbital insertion.
  • Carrying capacity : The carrying capacity to a 700 km altitude sun-synchronous orbit is no less than 4.5 tons; the carrying capacity to a 500 km altitude sun-synchronous orbit can reach more than 6.5 tons.
  • Technical advantages : It combines the advantages of solid rocket motors (high thrust and short preparation time) with liquid rocket motors (high specific impulse and precise adjustment), and has high reliability, high cost-effectiveness and rapid launch capability.

This launch was the 660th launch of the Long March series of carrier rockets.
