At 11:41 AM Beijing time today, a Long March-4B carrier rocket was launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, successfully sending the Yaogan-47 satellite into its predetermined orbit. The launch mission was a complete success.
This launch was the 114th launch of the Long March-4 series carrier rockets, the 252nd launch of the Long March series rockets developed by the Eighth Academy, and the 614th launch of the Long March series carrier rockets overall.
[One more launch today: Long March 4B rocket successfully launches Yaogan-47 satellite] At 11:41 AM on December 9th, a Long March 4B carrier rocket soared into the sky from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, successfully sending the Yaogan-47 satellite into its predetermined orbit. The launch mission was a complete success.
The Yaogan-47 satellite was developed by the Fifth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) and will be mainly used for land surveys, urban planning, road network design, crop yield estimation, environmental management, and comprehensive disaster prevention and mitigation.
The Long March 4B rocket, which carried out this launch mission, is a room-temperature liquid three-stage carrier rocket developed by the Eighth Academy of CASC. It is capable of launching various types of satellites with different orbital requirements, and can perform one-satellite or multiple-satellite launches. Its payload capacity to a 700-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit is up to 2.5 tons.
This launch was the 614th launch of the Long March series of carrier rockets.
