At 10:41 AM on November 10th, the Long March 12 carrier rocket ignited and lifted off from the Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site, successfully sending 13 low-Earth orbit satellites for satellite internet into their predetermined orbits. The launch mission was a complete success.

The Long March 12 rocket, developed by the Eighth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, adopts a “three-horizontal” launch mode of horizontal assembly, horizontal testing, and horizontal transportation. It can perform various orbital launch missions, with a low-Earth orbit payload capacity of no less than 12 tons and a 700-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit payload capacity of no less than 6 tons. It can be adapted to satellite fairings with a diameter of 5.2 meters or 4.2 meters depending on mission requirements.

In this mission, the Long March 12 rocket adopted a new type of high-reflectivity four-proof paint, which can effectively reduce the heat absorbed by the outer wall of the satellite fairing due to solar radiation, improve the temperature and humidity environment inside the fairing, and enhance the rocket’s adaptability to the high-temperature environment of Hainan. In addition, this rocket applied zero-window launch technology, realizing automated operation and control of the pre-launch process, which can improve the rocket’s adaptability to…

The Long March-12 carrier rocket is a new generation cryogenic liquid carrier rocket developed by the Eighth Academy. It is also China’s first 4-meter-class single-core carrier rocket, with a low-Earth orbit payload capacity of no less than 12 tons and a 700-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit payload capacity of no less than 6 tons. It can be adapted to fairings with diameters of 4.2 meters and 5.2 meters according to mission requirements, supporting single-satellite and multi-satellite launches into different orbits. This mission marked the first time the Long March-12 carrier rocket performed a “zero-window” launch….

This launch was the 607th launch of the Long March series of carrier rockets.
