[ Long March 4B Rocket Successfully Launches Ziyuan-3 04 Satellite ]
At 11:17 AM on December 16th, the Long March 4B carrier rocket ignited and lifted off from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, successfully sending the Ziyuan-3 04 satellite into its predetermined orbit. The launch mission was a complete success.
The Ziyuan-3 04 satellite, developed by the Fifth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), is an operational satellite in the national long-term development plan for civil space infrastructure. It is equipped with payloads such as a three-line array stereo mapping camera, a multispectral camera, and a laser altimeter, enabling it to acquire high-resolution stereo and multispectral images.
The Long March 4B rocket, which carried out this launch mission, is a room-temperature liquid three-stage carrier rocket developed by the Eighth Academy of CASC. It is capable of launching various types of satellites with different orbital requirements, and can perform one-satellite or multiple-satellite launches. Its payload capacity to a 700-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit is up to 2.5 tons.
This launch was the 617th launch of the Long March series of carrier rockets.
