The International Society for Deep Space Exploration has settled in China
On July 7, the founding conference of the International Society for Deep Space Exploration was held in Hefei, Anhui Province, China, People’s Republic of China… . The society is the first international scientific and technological organization in the field of deep space exploration approved by the Chinese government, initiated by the domestic scientific and technological community, and participated by scientific research institutions and scientists around the world. 16 international organizations such as the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs and the International Astronautical Federation and more than 70 government departments, aerospace agencies, scientific research institutes and universities around the world sent congratulatory letters and telegrams. More than 100 representatives from the National Space Administration, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the People’s Government of Anhui Province, the China Association for Science and Technology, embassies of many countries in China, scientists and related organizations attended the founding conference.
President Xi Jinping attaches great importance to the development of deep space exploration, pointing out that space exploration is a common cause of mankind, and requires us to embark on a new journey of interstellar exploration step by step. The establishment of the International Society for Deep Space Exploration is the best practice to actively implement the important instructions of President Xi Jinping. Focusing on the fields of lunar exploration, interplanetary exploration, asteroid defense, etc., the society will study the development trend of international deep space exploration, clarify the scientific direction and technical path of space exploration; hold high-level international academic activities, build a broad cooperation and exchange platform, and gather the wisdom of scientists around the world; promote the transformation of deep space scientific and technological achievements to serve economic and social development; organize popular science exhibitions and international education and training to promote the cultivation of global aerospace science and technology talents; publish and distribute international academic journals, carry out international major projects and outstanding scientist awards, and inspire global scientific discoveries and technological innovation; participate in the formulation of outer space standards and rules, and promote the peaceful use of outer space and long-term sustainable development.
