Recently at HKIA Hong Kong International Airport joining the airport team to combat the coronavirus is the Intelligent Sterilisation Robot (ISR). The robot can move autonomously and sterilise up to 99.99% of bacteria and virus in the air and on object surfaces using UV light, 360-degree disinfection spray-heads and 0.3um air filtering. The sterilisation process could be as short as 10 minutes. With the technology developed in Hong Kong, this robot has been used mainly in hospitals. HKIA is the world’s first airport to deploy the sterilisation robot in airport operations.
It is always our first priority to ensure the health and safety of our passengers and staff. In response to COVID-19, we have stepped up our measures at HKIA to combat the coronavirus.
