Like a bit of Curiosity and Grail?

NASA-SPACECRAFT-3D

When I was browsing  through the Facebook feeds,  on the Apps store facebook page, I’ve stumble a pond on to this new Apple iphone and iPad app which based on AR (argument reality) and found it rather cute, reason been that you get to look at all sides of the two spacecraft one is Curiosity, and the other is Grail .  With one thing you’ll get the selection of the two hopefully with any given updated on the app will bring more AR items to it.

Firstly I’ve tried Curiosity, but before then I’ve  have to print out the Marker, by via Email or E-print, at then I decide to have the Marker Email, pretty much faster that way, due to that I’ve haven’t set up the printer to do E-print yet.  Later printing of the Marker page, I found Curiosity very much fun, than to Grail, due to that Curiosity has more animation components with the instrumentations arms reaching out with a menu to have the probe have the arm, mask, the High Gain Antenna, or just turn it around to every ninety degrees.  Same goes for Grail also but it has less functionality.

The NASA App is pretty much fun though, but it in be interesting given it have included other probes and mission vechicles such as the Space Shuttles, the rockets that lead up to the Saturn five programme Constellation,  and not forgetting the ISS ( International Space Station)  or SkyLab.

There’s something about a coffee……….

There’s always that something about a friend, that’s always can trust on keep you awake during the nights, helping you through the night  of doing  of  work typing away on that soon need to be done assignment, or keeping someone captive attentively talking, sharing in those special moment after a date. It’s also a friend in the morning that lends you helping hand you get you out from a hangover from the night before.

Your friend coffee comes in different ways of dressing your friend might come  as instant, or coffee-house made in either Latte, Flat white, also depending how you like to wardrobe your friend, they come in different form of many blends.

There’s one way of finding  your friend, is through this Starbucks app. even though the app services  doesn’t work in New Zealand Starbucks stores it works only in the United States stores.

This App does: it’s either in iPhone and on Android.

  • it allows you to customs build your drink.
  • finds the nearest Starbucks store from you geo location from your smart phone.
  • Browse the food menu what they have in place in store.
  • Allows you track your rewards program

Plus Two More apps!

Having trying out two more apps for the night skies, I’ll say this is a definite must! two of the apps in questions are the Star walk   assisted with another app the Solar walk. Both have won the 2010 Apple Design awards.

STAR WALK

Via vitoTechnology.com

Having trying out the Star walk, at first I found it was relative smooth to used, it follow where ever you go base on you location, and when you decide to see the night sky in a different location you could change the geo settings.

when you start you are greeted by a skylive screen of what’s up  in  you geo location dependant on you iPhone GPS. at the moment using it right now, it shows the planet’s time of rise, and setting with the angle of elevation where you can expect to see during the night  sky horizon.

The App, Star walk incorporates many items in the four must apps have, but in even more, it shows up the constellations in the night skies,  it gives you most of  views of Constellations, Solar system, Deep Space, Stars, and Satellites in the night sky. when you in need to have a search of an object it directs you with a cursor to the intend object. also it gives you photos of the day of beautiful stunning astrophotography images taken.

When you zoom in on that particular object, in the stellar field, it shows up the particular detail statistics. One interesting thing to note it has a timeline which you could manipulate the field of view in the night or day sky, whether it’s back, forward, or in just real time. also It comes to show that it does it any direction with using the gyro of the Apple iPhone series, but using it on the iPhone 4 or an ipad will give you a much greater user experience.

In sense of Star Walk App, it’s great, the experience is pleasant. It’s zen like feel gives you controls of knowing, learning more about the night sky humbling.

Solar walk

I began using this app right after when I’ve start using Star walk, finding it very useful at night, and as a quick reference to  all the nine planets of the Solar System, yes that includes Pluto! The experience of using the app is amazing, it gives you the selection of selecting what type of planets that you like to visit, and give you real-time, or timeline back or forward in time to see a different position in time.

When selecting you Planet it, show up with the general  details, it’s mass, dimensions, whom has been visiting it,  plus its inner self, yes you’ll get to see the planet’s inner.  One thing like is the way how you could manipulate the directions viewing positions, by pitching, rotating around, and seeing the best view around.

When you get to used both Solar Walk, and Star walk  they work side by side.

The daylight Moon named Luna!

Sometimes when you see the moon during the afternoon hours of the day till twilight during the summer season, it has a different glow, the texture is different, it’s more hue with blues skies with the summer seasonings.

The luna texture is sky baked among with the summer atmosphere, having, plastered surface. when you look through a telescope during daylight, it has a different flavour from the night sky, when view you see the blue-tinted glass sky but even closer it breaks ever so gentle in to the inking of space.  Unlike when taking photographs of the moon during the night sky, the images is smoother, creamy rather than plastered surfaced

This time I’ve used a different photographic equipment, instead of  using the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W180 which I typically used most of the time. This time I decide to experiment on Apple iPhone 4 onto a ten inch Meade LX200 Telescope and the Stardome Auckland Observatory’s 30 inch Zeiss  ,  at first it took sometime to get used to but in the end it’s very impromptu.  I love the touch screen feature which it help with zooming in. its’ very simple to used, plus the HRD which makes the images richer.

It took some time to get used to, but it work out in the end , by placing the camera lens right next to the lens.  and a lot of patience but in the end it all work out.

Long time ago a Galaxy far away!

Planning too join the rebellion against the evil empire of Emperor Palatine. well this game app does allow for you to join the rebellion. This game app is called Star Wars trench run version two it’s by THQ wirless! It’s basically reliving the challenging battles from Episodes four of the Star wars, episodes. Naming ” A new hope”

Have you every wonder?, what was like to play the games that are in the days of dancing the robot dance( thanks to C3PO for creating those awesome dance moves), watching movies and memorable moments on the VCR ( either VHS or BETA )? . There’s this game App that I’m addicted too that brought wonderful memories of being flying through the trenches of the Death Star, trying to voiding the sneaky blaster cannons that awaits you every single moments that you entered into the trenches just try to fire Torpedos into the a small hole, which is a heat venting conduit which leads to the heart of the Death Star’ reactor. also reliving favourite moments, escaping from the Death Star after rescuing Princess Leia, then battling it all out to escape, with that mysterious cargo that the Stromtroopers place by the orders of Darth Vader.

This game allows you to enter in various ships of you choosing from the classic X-Wing, to the infamous wicked modified YT-1300 freighter The millennium Falcon, the classic Tie Fighter, also Vader’s fighter or just your average Y-wing fighter. The game allows you fly in different missions dogfights, trenches, and Han Solo. One night feature that I’ve like is the changablitiy of between first and third person view in flying combat. Some how playing this game app bring back remembering the days of playing it at the arcades, when it was all wire frame, before it was skin and textured.

Playing this requires a little bit more skill, in saying this I use and still to play a lot of Star Wars also that goes for Star Trek PC games in the past both requires Joystick, Keyboarding and Mousing. Playing with the Phone requires a lot of moment and balancing with the wrist movements, that means taking the game a seldom slower than the intense PC gaming, where you just go in into the fight like flying a Viper, and creating nothing but the rain out from Cyclons in Battlestar Galatica. But if there’s a Battlestar Galatica version out there I like to know.

The Star Wars trench run, is great when you need adventuring life out from Tatooine, and will give you workout.
