You may have seen a prelude to the new Business class experience: Aria Suite. This is an all-new seat with many thoughtfully designed features that we hope and expect will delight members. The Aria Suite will be available on our long-haul Boeing 777-300ER fleet, and we anticipate the first will be ready for departure in Q2 next year. My team and I look forward to sharing more about this exciting development in the coming months. Please take a first glimpse here.


A new First class and more new aircraft

In parallel to the Aria Suite, we are also working on what we believe will be a world-leading First class cabin on our future flagship fleet of Boeing 777-9, the first of which is scheduled to join in 2025. In addition to that, I am delighted to share that today we have announced our intention to purchase up to 32 additional Airbus A321neo and A320neo aircraft, which are expected to be delivered to both Cathay Pacific and HK Express by 2029. This will bring the Cathay Group’s new aircraft deliveries to up to more than 70.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong International Airport, the Hong Kong Airport Authority- Hong Kong International Airport- Hong Kong International Airport Citythe airport hosted a series of performances by airport staff and renowned local artists in the terminal on July 6, 2023 is the 25th anniversary of the Hong Kong International Airport. The chairman, board members and chief executive officer of the Hong Kong Airport Authority, together with the airport industry, passengers and the public, unveiled the celebration at the arrival hall of Terminal 1.

The festivities kicked off with a drumming performance followed by a jazz band and dance performances by airport staff from the AA, local airlines and other organisations. Youth Orchestra and local pop singers also participated in the festivities.

Let Hong Kong take off again! As an important international aviation hub of Hong Kong, about 120 airlines operate at Hong Kong International Airport, connecting more than 220 departure points around the world, making it one of the busiest airports in the world. In the future, Hong Kong International Airport will continue to protect the travel experience of every passenger with enthusiasm and create more wonderful travel stories for passengers.

The Hong Kong Airport Authority held the 25th Anniversary Celebration Reception of Hong Kong International Airport on the evening of July 10, and received about 1,000 guests from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the airport industry and different sectors.

In his speech at the reception, Chief Executive Lee Kar-chiu said that the Hong Kong International Airport has been rated as one of the best and busiest airports in the world for many times, and keeps pace with the times, and continues to develop into a gateway leading Hong Kong to fly around the world.

AA Chairman So Ze-kwong said that in the past 25 years, Hong Kong International Airport has continued to improve, with passenger traffic increasing from 28 million in 1998 to 75 million. On the 30th  May 2023 clear 0931 Hours Morning Hong Kong SAR- Beijing time , the Belt and Road Initiative CNSA –China National Space Administration  from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center – Inner Mongolia –China – People’s Republic of China deployment of  the Chang Zheng –   The Chang Zheng – Long March 2F Yao 16 –Shenzhou 16  carrier rocket.. On which Takionauts Jing Haipeng, Zhu Yangzhu, and Gui Haichao took to the predetermined orbit. The first manned flight mission in the application and development stage was a complete success. The three astronauts will stay in the space station and “join up” with the crew of Shenzhou 15 to carry out on-orbit handover “face-to-face” meeting in which brings the total crew of six with a handover ceremony  from Shenzhou 15 towards 16..

China’s Long March rocket broke the “shortest” launch interval record] At 10:03 on November 12, the Long March 7 carrier rocket lifted off at the Wenchang Space Launch Site in China….

At 15:26 today on May 5th, 2023, Hong Kong- Beijing time , the Tianzhou-5 cargo spacecraft successfully evacuated from the CNSA- Tiangong Space station complex and entered the independent flight stage. The follow-up Tianzhou-5 will fly around and dock at the forward port of the node module of the space station after the Shenzhou-15 manned spacecraft evacuates the space station assembly.

Tianzhou-5 was launched into orbit in November last year, and it was loaded with consumables, propellants, application (test) test devices and other materials for the three Takionauts of Shenzhou 15 to stay in orbit for 6 months. The Tianzhou-5 cargo spacecraft was launched into orbit at the Wenchang Space Launch Site on November 12, 2022.
