In this test, the TL-3 fairing has a diameter of 4.2m and a length of about 13m. It is made of all-carbon fiber composite materials. It is the largest fairing in domestic commercial aerospace and the largest all-carbon fiber fairing in China. It is also the first in China for the Internet. Constellation tailor-made fairing.

In this test, the connection and unlocking mechanism and the separation energy source are all reusable and non-pyrotechnical designs. The development of TL-3 closely focused on high performance, low cost, high reliability, fast response, and mass production and adopted more than 50 innovative technologies. More than 30 of them were applied for the first time in China’s aerospace industry, and MCD was one of them. R&D personnel will begin the comprehensive layout of 4.2m large-diameter composite fairings and MCD products in 2022.
