香港 #AlreadyTomorrowInHongKong- Adventuring without a blue box-TARDIS | OCEAN PARK A Homegrown Hong Kong Park……

Ocean Park sits in the Southern District of Hong Kong, in the areas of Wong Chuk Hang, also Nam Long Shan, it was first open on 10th January 1977, in which features many attraction thematic rides with its main attraction as an almost Zoo as Oceanarium, featuring marine, animals….   Ocean Park was once the localisation home-grown version of Disneyland, before Hong Kong Disneyland was built on Lantau Island in which was open on 2005……

Opening on the 28th December 2016 which is now or yesterday, That There’s a new feature that’s been connecting towards the attraction in which a new MTR rail network system in which saves a thirty to forty minute double Decker bus ride from either Central or Admiralty to Ocean Park within four minutes…in which is very adjacent to Ocean Park, in which on it’s very door step making it very accessible to the park also the local neighbourhood community also..

Ocean Park has been the traditional favorite, also pastime, going back there seemingly is like the place has changed quite a lot, with its new attractions, and it’s retrofitting with the new competition with down the road on Lantau Island….  Ocean Park is unique in a way it’s home-grown, its Hong Kong something that you can’t replicate like the infamous Milk Coffee or Tea which fashion in Hong Kong then it started from trending…

At that time when I was at that late September,  Ocean Park’s Gondolas was out of order, for the rest of the day in required for it’ unexpected repairs till it was till later in the later in afternoon till it was operational.. So the only way up is the aqua safari steampunk tram up the mountain was the only way up also the way down from Ocean Express to Thrill Mountain where the connection point in getting up the mountain… the Ocean Express was interesting with its oceanic volcanic theme with adventuring  H.G. Wells captain Nemo adventures in mind.. During that time Ocean Park was on a build-up on heading for Halloween in with the upcoming film for the reboot version of Ghostbusters at that time with all sorts of Halloween festivities…

As exploring around the Park, the Amusement rides, forgoing the roll coaster, knowing previously what happen the last time I that I leave till later onwards… Exploring around, finding the parks enclosure starting with penguins, then onwards with the lion seals enclosure as the with the penguins they were extra cute and adorable, in which has you move further downwards the park there’s more of the animals enclosure featuring Pandas, also red panda’s as well with in another part of the park featuring different exotic goldfishes in different types of variant species..  With an impressive massive aquariums that will make Auckland’s Kelly Tartons seeming small in comparison on multiple levels… Having walking through various Aquariums, with different on multitude of sea life of sorts… Exploring throughout various caverns from shorelines to shark level depths …. Amazing Asian Animals, Aqua City, Polar Adventures, Rain forest, Thrill Mountain are some of the attractions that I’ve ponder adventured around till later in the afternoon where bounding for Admiralty on a Double Decker, in which the bus stop is just opposite to the Hong Kong Police Academy, in taking the CityBus route 629, in which runs every daily from Admiralty’s MTR station in where your Octopus Card Comes in Handy for the Thirty minute bus ride in which sitting on the top level deck seeing rear seats which remind from a Scene where Ruby and Josh were talking on an intellectual level  about East meet West relationships as they board for Jordan from Tsim Sha Tsui for some street side seafood and shared table manners Josh’s favorite …… in which now  for me was looking at those back seats then looking out the window soaking it in reconnecting with my Home..

香港 #AlreadyTomorowInHongKong – Adventuring without a blue box-TARDIS | THE OCTOPUS CARD…….day two….

This, your, my Octopus card is far more important than this card in the late 1980’s Diners card advert… Really  is…!

One of the most important pieces of plastics, with a magnetic strip including a NFC chip, is the “Octopus Card”; it has the same dimensions of a standard Credit card, with exclusive features…  As from the first post written that arriving onto back to Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong, as coming back to Hong Kong, the first thing was on my mind beside customs, immigration, Accommodation, also that of my luggage was having too much fun on the carousel…..

Having getting re accustomed with my first Home of three, Hong Kong… adventuring setting foot wise onwards to Nathan Road to Tsim Sha Tsui Subway station in which is in the corner of  Nathan Road, Haiphong Road..  Having walking downwards towards the stations reception in awaiting in line for the inquiry in purchasing one, at the MTR Customer service Center, in which is normally located in the center of the stations between the inwards and outwards flow of the stations hall

After purchasing an Octopus Card, with a deposit for one, is at 50 Hong Kong Dollars (~ 10NZD), in which you can top it up following amount that you required, but a good 100 Hong Dollars (~20 NZD) will do it for a generally getting you by for a week or least that’s depends of how you travel in between unitizing the subways trains, the ferries, Trams and bus network systems travelling in between Hong Kong Island also New Territories … but for now it’s best topped up the card least 300 HKD (~ 60 NZD) for just in case just to get you by in case that you don’t use it to shop for food, groceries, in Octopus Cards affiliated stores in which most places are affiliated with an octopus card NFC reader instore, or a sticker labelled outside the store…. Also if you can’t find the nearest subway station customer center to top up your card you could try the nearest Seven eleven stores around normal open least 24/7…….

When you try to get to know the subway station networking neighbourhood around it’s best to grab a subway map from the customer service center, or there’s a “Hong Kong MTR – iOS App” in which finding it very usefully when there’s various updates with networks that you’re travelling within, the app provides with ambulances of useful information having using it of find the times, best directions on which train route that I’m on or travelling too.. Somehow wondering how along the way of how did I lead myself writing up from Octopus card to MTR network that’ll be another on another post.. but they are very much in a really good relationship together

香港 #AlreadyTomorowInHongKong – Adventuring without a blue box-TARDIS | where to begin……. Finding transportation……with for four wheels or more..

Knowing me I’ve overdressed for the type of climate environment that’s presents before me…………….

Having gathered my luggage from having way too much fun from going around in the carousel, transportation comes to mind, there’s two that’s comes to mine also should I catch the subway to my accommodations, or a taxi..  Thinking that I haven’t got an Octopus Card or a MTR Subway map yet…. So taking a taxi was the primary choice at the moment… getting towards my accommodation…also it’s also a first hand in getting reacquaint back with my home of three,  in getting reacquaint back with Hong Kong, Already tomorrow in Hong Kong.. In seeing what changes that have been since.. The last time I was here…

Having dragging my luggage around looking or the airport’s mapping system around in finding  the way out in finding the taxi terminal… then finding that Taxi terminals, noticing beforehand that’s there two types of Taxi one, green, second red coloured. The green coloured taxis are reserve for Hong Kong Island, and then the Red is for New Territories, also if you’re in Macau the taxis are in black.

As I approached toward the Hong Kong Red taxi line, and then stating where my accommodation to the operator, whom holding onto a fare charge hand held device in which given me the quote in what the charge of the taxi ride is, in which is very handy to know in which amounts to least 250 HKD (50 NZD)….. As I stated to the operator that my accommodation is in Tsim Sha Tsui, in this has a comfortable view of Victoria Harbour… Having my taxi driver, putting my luggage into boot of his taxi, in which my luggage is saying that his boot won’t shut so in which he place a wiring hook to hold the boot safe for travel… when you notice this, it’s okay, it’s pretty safe, they’ve been doing this for many decades, also secure seemingly after looking at his handy work….

Having traveling from Lantau Island enjoying the scenic drive in between the Islands, going from Tung Chung onwards to North Lantau Highway, in between the bridges between Park Island towards Tsim Sha Tsui.. I was impress to see Hong Kong has grown since the last time I been, the new bridges, from the newly reclaimed land which became the airport. In which as the drive when onwards, gradually showing the various historical anthropology layers Hong Kong as driving towards the multitudes of  density of suburbian and urban that coexists among each other…. Among the duration, the Taxi driver, pleasantly began talking about the various changes that’s have taken place amounting within the last two decades…. Somehow how taking a Taxi was a good idea, having that first reconnection back in getting know the city that once lived in, had I’ve taken taking the subway it’ll be a different story in not having that type of reconnection back with Hong Kong then I wouldn’t knowing the in depth stories of the changes that have taken place.. In view of what’s been going on…  In a later post I’ll explain how an octopus card works that was a first think on my mind..

Continues…………………………..
