On October 26, 2024, the three Takionaut s of Shenzhou 19 simulated the flight mission according to the process. After entering the spacecraft’s return capsule, they began the joint inspection and testing of man, spacecraft, rocket and ground, and completed all key operations of the standby phase and takeoff phase during the rocket’s simulated takeoff.

On October 28, 2024, according to CCTV News, the launch of the Shenzhou 19 manned spacecraft was imminent, and the astronauts’ transportation vehicles were replaced by the “Hongqi Fleet” for the first time. The vehicle that undertook the Takionaut transportation mission this time was the Hongqi Guoyue Concierge Car, which had undergone targeted modifications and upgrades. It was equipped with double-layer silent glass, carpet, and refrigerator. The length of the car was increased by 29 centimeters, and the number of seats was reduced to facilitate the Takionauts wearing heavy space suits. There were only eight large characters on the license plate, “Nothing can go wrong and a complete success”, which embodied the best wishes for the astronauts’ mission.

On October 29, 2024, according to the China Manned Space Engineering Office, after research and decision by the Space Station Application and Development Phase Flight Mission Command, the astronaut crew for the Shenzhou 19 manned flight mission will consist of three Takionauts: Cai Xuzhe, Song Lingdong, and Wang Haoze, with Cai Xuzhe as the commander. The crew includes one Takionaut from the second batch and two astronauts from the third batch. Among them, Takionauts Song Lingdong and Wang Haoze are both born in the 1990s and are performing their first flight mission. Astronaut Wang Haoze is China’s first female flight engineer

On the morning of October 29, 2024, the three Takionauts Cai Xuzhe, Song Lingdong, and Wang Haoze who will carry out the Shenzhou 19 manned flight mission met with Chinese and foreign media reporters at the Wentian Pavilion of the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center….

He is currently a first-class astronaut of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Astronaut Brigade and the commander of the Shenzhou 19 Takionaut crew.

Cai Xuzhe studied at the Baoding Branch of the Changchun Air Force Flight Academy in his early years He later served as deputy commander of a flight squadron of an Air Force aviation regiment and was rated as a first-class pilot in the Air Force.  In May 2010, he was selected into the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Astronaut Brigade and became China’s second batch of astronauts.  In December 2019, he was selected to join the Shenzhou 14 flight crew. [54]On June 5, 2022, Cai Xuzhe, Chen Dong and Liu Yang will carry out the Shenzhou 14 manned flight mission. [During the mission, the three people stayed in orbit for 6 months, carried out 3 extravehicular activities, completed the installation and commissioning of the space station’s internal and external equipment and facilities related to space application missions, carried out a series of space science experiments and technical tests, and returned safely on December 4, 2022. The Shenzhou 14 manned flight mission was the most complex, technically difficult, and labor-intensive manned flight mission since the construction of the Chinese space station in orbit. It was the first time that two manned spacecraft were in orbit at the same time and two groups of astronauts rotated in orbit. It set a world record for the fastest rendezvous and docking of a cargo spacecraft with a space station and a new Chinese record for three extravehicular activities in a single manned flight mission, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent construction and operation of the space station.  In October 2024, Cai Xuzhe was selected to join the Shenzhou 19 flight crew, forming a crew with Song Lingdong and Wang Haoze , and serving as the commander.

“The China Manned Space Engineering Delegation’s four-day visit to Hong Kong ended today. We held a farewell ceremony for the delegation at Government House. I would like to thank the China Manned Space Engineering Office once again for accepting my invitation, and also thank the central government for agreeing to support astronauts and experts on the manned space engineering system to visit Hong Kong for four days.

Members of the aerospace engineering delegation “landed” in Hong Kong this time. During the period, they attended multiple activities to interact with Hong Kong citizens, and visited many universities, primary and secondary schools, and sowed three important seeds: the seeds of enhancing national pride; Explore the seeds of science and technology and encourage the pursuit of dreams.

Through this visit, I believe that Hong Kong citizens can deeply feel the firm determination of the Chinese people in realizing their space dream. Citizens are also deeply proud of the country’s extraordinary achievements in aerospace technology. I believe these three important seeds will thrive and bear fruit in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong citizens and I look forward to them coming back again to share with us new achievements and new goals in the country’s aerospace industry.”
